Some advice: Wear Comfortable Shoes

Friday April 23rd, 2010 from 6pm-12am is going to be EPIC on Fillmore St. After weeks of hard work we will finally present the 1st, Fillmore Art Walk! You are invited to experience an evening full of Art, Fashion, Music, discounted Food and Libations!
One of my favorite things to do in this city is attend  Art Shows and Live Performances. It really is a nice break from the usual "city nightlife." With summer just around the corner we want to get people in the mood to celebrate San Francisco's rich culture, and we are highlighting The Fillmore District! with local emerging artists, and great specials at participating restaurants!
There will be so many events approaching the neighborhood and we are kicking it off with this celebration!
If  you have been to the art walks of Mission, Divisadero, and Haight St., you will definitely understand why I felt so inspired to create this event.
It certainly was not an easy process. I hard a hard time convincing people that I could pull this off, but once I joined forces with Melonie and Melorra Green, my dream of bringing an Art Walk to Fillmore became a reality.
Melonie and Melorra are no strangers to the Fillmore District. For years they have been bringing art to the community with events like Idependant Artist Week and other exhibitions. I truly could not have done this without them!

          DAY 1

Day 2

Day 3

We still have our work cut out for us, but we are determined to make it a success! I can't wait for you to see the outcome!

WHAT TO EXPECT?:
LIVE MUSIC by at The Fillmore Center by Seneca (Jazz Mafia) and MUGPUSH! 7pm!

$6 cocktails at 1300 on Fillmore all night, and a killer Happy hour featuring 1/2 off appetizers and discounted Wine, Beer, and Well Cocktails. With a Special performance by Hot Pocket of the Bayonics!

$2.75 draft beer at Bruno's Pizza
$4.00 Soulgria & $5.00 basket of chicken wings at Gussies Chicken and Waffles
Spoken word at Marcus Books Stores
A special paint exhibitition at Fat Angel Wine Bar
The block will be full of art and music!
Yoshi's Jazz Club will be participating with their new weekly party, Fast Forward Fridays, which will also feature Art and Music! This is an event you don't want to miss!

The Brooklyn Circus is making over the store! Rumor has it they may have a grand re-opening on this night, and throw a nice little soiree. I have my fingers crossed.

And of course how could attend the Fillmore Art Walk without stopping by The Lush Life Gallery at the Jazz Heritage Center featuring photography of the most influential Jazz Legends by Herman Leonard, called "The Jazz Giants." The doors will be open for you!
Another exhibit you don't want to miss is The Golden Movement at Air Castle Gallery by Joshua Mays!

Mark your calendar for Friday April 23rd! This is going to be a fun night! Do not miss out!

$2 Tuesdays at Gussies Chicken and Waffles

Gussies Chicken and Waffles,  fairly new to the Fillmore District, offers an extensive menu featuring some down home Southern Style cooking for lunch and dinner!

From the famous Chicken Gumbo, to the ooey gooey  cheddar Mac n Cheese,  you leave Gussies Chicken and Waffles with your stomach and pockets full.

Pockets full?!? Well, I say this because they offer daily specials that are really good deals. My favorite is $2 Tuesdays! This amazing deal is offered all the way until closing, so there is no need to rush from work.
There is plenty of fried chicken to go around!

We're not talking about little drumlette's either. You are served two hearty fried chicken wings that guarantee satisfaction!
ALL YOU NEED!!
If beer isn't your choice of beverage, you can enjoy a shot of Sake, Soju, a nice glass of wine , or a refreshing soft drink while you watch the giant flat screen HD telivision mounted on the wall behind the bar.
Enjoy $2 Tuesdays at the bar or in the dining room! There is also patio seating with heated lamps!
I am all set, and this is:
